Our Story

How it all started?

There wasn’t a “big problem” in the homeware world. Just a quiet gap that we kept noticing at home.

Hi, we’re Vedika and Vidhi, and we grew up in a family that has been working with textiles for over 30 years. Fabrics, prints, cotton, stitching, it was always around us, but never something we imagined would become our story too.

As we got older and started building our own homes, we realised something: homeware looked beautiful everywhere online, but it didn’t always feel good in real life. The quilts were pretty but too delicate to wash. The cushions looked aesthetic but not comfortable enough to nap on.

Everything seemed to focus on the picture, not the person using it. We didn’t want homeware that only looked good. We wanted homeware that lived well. That’s when Taran really began.

With the belief that comfort shouldn’t be complicated. That good design should still be usable. That cotton is still the best thing for Indian homes. That small batches and thoughtful hands create pieces that last longer. That the things you bring home should feel warm, familiar and honest, the way home is supposed to feel.

So we took everything we learned growing up in textiles and built something simple: home things that are well-made, easy to care for, and slowly crafted. Taran isn’t just about products. It’s about comfort you can use day after day, season after season.

It’s our way of carrying forward the feeling of home we grew up with, and sharing it with yours.
